NOTE: Currently you will need to set up your own Client ID (which is explained below) in order to user the connector. We are looking to see if we can remove this step in a future version but it is straightforward and only needs to be done once.

Setting up a Client ID

The following example shows creation of an app in Azure Active Directory, and setting of permissions to allow access to a SharePoint Online instance. This allows the Office 365 Sharepoint Connector to authenticate and request data from the SharePoint Online instance.

Log into Azure https://manage.windowsazure.com and select your directory:

Click the 'ADD' button to create a new application:

Set a name and type:

Select 'CONFIGURE' and note the Client ID and also set a redirect URLto 'https://secure.industrialcodebox.com/oauthresult/code'

IMPORTANT: If you are using the new Qlik Web Connectors product (formerly QVSource) you should set the redirect URL to 'https://connector.qlik.com/auth/oauth/'

Add Permissions

We now need to add permissions to other applications. Click the 'Add application' button:

Add 'Office 365 SharePoint Online':

And ensure the following permissions are set:

Don't forget to hit 'SAVE' at the bottom of the screen after you have done this.

You now need to repeat the last step by clicking 'Add application', adding 'Microsoft Graph' and ensuring the following permissions are set and saved:

And then clicking 'Add application', adding 'Windows Azure Active Directory' and ensuring the following permissions are set and saved:

Usage

NOTE we need to do this step BEFORE attempting to authenticate: Log into QVSource and select the Office365 Connector. We need to set the Client ID (from above) and Base URL (in this example we use a SharePoint Online Base URL).

Authenticate and copy and paste the code as shown:

Image

After clicking the Save button, the user name should be shown, and we should be able to run the table to check that we are authenticated:

Now we can select the ListResources table and run it, and the data is displayed:
