QVSource: The QlikView & Qlik Sense API Connector (Docs)

This application demonstrates how to use the YouTube Connector For QlikView & Qlik Sense (v3) for searches across YouTube. Please note that we also now have a dedicated connector to the YouTube Analytics API.

Download

We are starting to move our QlikView applications over to GitHub.

To understand why we are doing this and what it means to you, we have written this page.

Please note however that you will need QVSource 1.4.6.1 or later to use the following starter application:
You can download the latest Zip file here or you can visit the QVSource repository on GitHub here where you can track changes and download it.

Usage

To use this demo application you will need to ensure that you are authenticated with the QVSource YouTube Connector For QlikView & Qlik Sense (v3).

Configuration

As with all our demo applications, this one is easy to configure for your own needs.

YouTube Searches

The application has been reloaded using the search terms 'QlikView' and 'Qonnections'.

You can easily edit the application for any search term. To do this open the QlikView script editor and near the top find the YouTubeSearchTerms and alter the table accordingly.

//The search terms
YouTubeSearchTerms:
LOAD * INLINE [
    SearchTag, YouTubeSearchTerm
    QlikView, 'QlikView'
    QlikView, 'Qonnections'
];

Once you have done this, you can hit reload in the QlikView application and you should see something like this.

Further Enhancements

This is quite a simple application and could be expanded in many ways. For example, the comments could be processed using the Sentiment Analysis Connector or a metric could be created that makes use of the number of views, average rating and number of comments.

(QVSource works with Qlik Sense as well as QlikView - See this page for notes.)
